In some instances, a new customer applying for a GB Bank savings account will find that we are not able to automatically verify their identity or their linked current account during the application process.
If this happens, we will ask you to upload documents for manual verification. This will either happen as part of your application, or via a separate email request. In either case, the process to upload documents is the same and is explained below.
Please note, the upload link is only valid for 48 hours from time of receipt (whether by email or as part of the application journey). If your link has become invalid, please contact customer services who will be able to provide you with a new link.
How do I upload my documents?
Regardless of the type of document you need to upload, you will be taken to a page similar to this:
Read the instructions to ensure you understand what you need to do. This example focuses on bank statement upload, but the process is the same for other document types.
Select the document you need to upload
Click anywhere in the Upload Box. This will open up an explorer window ("Finder" if you are using a Mac). Navigate to the location where your document is saved, and double-click on the file.
Provide more details about the document
Once you have double-clicked on your file, you will be asked to provide more information about your document, as shown below.
Note: the blue instruction box will provide details on exactly what you need to do here. In this example, the instructions tell us to select "Other" for document type and click the blue tick box.
After clicking the blue tick box, if the instructions require you to upload additional documents, repeat the above exercise by clicking in a blank space in the Upload Box and selecting the next document you wish to upload.
It is important that you do this exercise one at a time for each document. Dragging and dropping multiple documents or attempting to select multiple documents in your Explorer/Finder window will not work.
Upload your documents
Once you have selected your document(s), they will be visible in the upload box as shown below.
If you can see everything you expect to see in the box, go ahead and click the Upload All button. You will see a popup message asking you to confirm the upload - click Yes. You will then receive a confirmation message that looks similar to the one below.
At this point, you have successfully uploaded your documents and can wait for the GB Bank team to get back to you.
